I first sought out Bikram yoga at the young age of 15 to get in shape for high school field hockey and lacrosse. I practiced Bikram for a few years, but when my senior year of high school came around I was going through some challenging times, my English teacher recommended I try a vinyasa yoga class.
After my first vinyasa yoga class at Centerville Yoga and Wellness I felt something I hadn’t felt in a long time; peace. I quickly began to realize that the mental benefits of yoga were just as important as the physical ones. The yoga studio became the place I could turn to, the one place where I wasn’t judged as a student, friend, athlete, or daughter, but I place I could just be.
I completed my 200 hour teacher training during my Junior year of college at Hofstra University in March of 2018. It completely transformed my life and in my heart I knew this was what I was meant to do. Shortly after my 200 hour training, I completed a 100-hour Soul and Sequencing training with my teacher Bec Gathmann-Landini at Yoga Nanda during the summer of 2018.
Yoga has taught me how to better love others, the world, and myself. My classes honor and incorporate the teachings of yoga while also playing and breaking a sweat. Expect to flow to an upbeat playlist and move the body, while also stilling the mind. There are numerous reasons why I became a yoga teacher, but the main one is because I want to provide a space for others to just be.
